The original cabinets — the Wunderkammern of 16th-century Europe — were rooms where the extraordinary was kept. Shells from uncharted coasts. Instruments from distant civilisations. Objects whose purpose was unknown but whose presence was undeniable. They were not museums. They were a way of understanding the world by holding pieces of it.

We have spent fifteen years building ours.

Duscae is based in Barcelona — a city that has always been a passage. Between Europe and Africa. Between the ancient Mediterranean and the modern continent. Objects arrive here naturally. They always have.

We work online, and we ship everywhere. But our eye was trained here, in a city where different worlds have always met.

We do not specialise, because genuine curiosity does not specialise.

Our collection spans continents and centuries — tribal masks, Asian antiquities, paintings, sculpture, photography, contemporary work that earns its place. The African object sits beside the European print. The ancient coin beside the modern photograph. This is deliberate. A true cabinet of curiosities holds everything, and the strangeness of the combinations is part of the point.

What unites every piece is not its category, or its age, or its price. It is the truth behind it. We do not list an object unless we can tell you where it came from, who made it, and why it existed. That story is as much a part of the piece as the piece itself.

Every acquisition comes with a dedicated adviser. We coordinate shipping, permits, and certificates. We answer questions — including the ones that are difficult to find answers to.

We also work with a select number of galleries and private collectors on a consignment basis, which allows us to offer pieces that would otherwise remain invisible to most buyers. If something is not on the site, it is worth asking.
